Eddie Hearn praised Derek Chisora and predicted bigger fights for the Briton after he defeated Kubrat Pulev.

38-year-old Chisora defeated the Bulgarian, 41, at the O2 Arena on Saturday night, and while Pulev may now face calls to retire, Chisora said after the fight that he wanted Deontay Wilder next.

Speaking in the ring following the bout Matchroom promoter Hearn paid tribute to Chsiroa.

“It was a tough, brutal fight. Gruelling. Sloppy at times,” he began. “We knew it would be like that. Pulev likes to hold him round the back of the head but Chisora deserved one tonight. It was a very, very close fight and when they read out the split I thought, ‘Please, no!’”

Hearn continued: “He deserves it.  For everything he’s put in, for everything he’s given the sport. So many close decisions that haven’t gone his way. This one did go his way. And by the way he’s just beaten a world top 15, probably top 10 heavyweight.

“You talk about what Chisora has left, you speak about what he’s just achieved in the ring, which is to beat a top 15/10 heavyweight.

“We’ll see what the future holds .He's got such a big heart, he never quits. Why not roll on bigger fights?”
