Edgar Berlanga 'has proven he's a star' following Alexis Angulo win

It may have not been an explosive performance against Alexis Angulo last Saturday, but Edgar Berlanga managed to maintain his unbeaten record and move to 20-0 with a unaminous decision win.

As well as not possesing a trademark Berlanga knockout finish, the fight was overshadowed by the Puerto Rican's attempt to bite his opponent.

However, when speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show, host Ak was impressed by what he saw from Berlanga throughout the 10 round contest.

"There were things I saw against Angulo that I hadn’t seen in Edgar throughout his entire professional career, like doubling up the jab, spinning off his opponent, putting punches together where he was just placing his shots and not trying to rip his opponent’s head off with every shot," Ak said.

"There were moments throughout that fight where he was pinned in the corner, he got hit with a couple of shots, but he always fired back.

"There wasn’t a moment throughout that fight where he got hit with a shot and didn’t know what to do and was shaken up."

Ak also praised Berlanga's avid fansbase and believes the 25-year-old is already a star in the world of boxing.

"Outside of his performance, he brought the crowd out, he is a star.

"Not only Fat Joe, but Devin Haney was also there, his father [Bill Haney], James Cruz, a bunch of other rappers and the Puerto Rican community came out for him."
