Edgar Berlanga is ecstatic for landing the opportunity to challenge unified super middleweight world champion Canelo Alvarez on September 14, live on DAZN.
But that isn't stopping him from bashing Alvarez for not fighting David Benavidez yet.
"You said $200 million," Berlanga told Fight Hub TV referring to Alvarez's purse request to clash with Benavidez. "I'm thinking about it like wait, he's probably not even scared of him.
"But now after seeing an interview that he did the other day and [Alvarez] said no he's a great fighter, he's dangerous, he's big, he comes over 20 pounds.
"He's the same weight as you at 168 so what does it matter? What does it matter he jumps up 15, 20 pounds? You jump up the same weight, bro."
Berlanga added: "Now, he's p—y. Super p—y."
Just as he did when talking to DAZN News last week, Berlanga also addressed critics saying it should be Alvarez vs. Benavidez and not Alvarez vs. Berlanga on September 14.
"They feel like I became his mandatory and boom I got the fight so fast," Berlanga said. "David's been the mandatory for about two years and he hasn't got the fight so that's why people are hating on me."
At 27, the undefeated Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs) will look to pull off the huge upset of the legend Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs).
