Erik Morales was an outstanding fighter.

Erik Morales often deilivered in the boxing ring as he captured multiple world titles whilst also entertaining the audiences he fought in front of.

The Mexican legend, famed for his amazing trilogies with Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao, competed against the very best the sport had to offer, but who was the hardest puncher he faced?

Surprisingly, Morales doesn’t say Barrera or Pacquiao when discussing the hardest hitter he faced despite partaking in vicious battles against both.

In 1998, Morales was a successful when stopping Junior Jones in the fight's fourth round, and he credits the New Yorker as being the man who hit him the hardest.

“Jones, I really felt it when he connected,” said Morales when speaking to The Ring in 2013.

“I remember freezing for a second in the second round of our fight when he caught me with a right hand.”
