Errol Spence Jr. or Josh Taylor can complete Terence Crawford's legacy says Bob Arum

Errol Spence Jr. or Josh Taylor can complete Terence Crawford's legacy says Bob ArumDAZN
Bob Arum believes Terence Crawford needs to face one of the world's best pound-for-pound fighters to complete his legacy.

Following his stoppage win against Shawn Porter on Saturday night, WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford has cemented himself as the best fighter at 147lbs, except in the eyes of WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. and his fans.

After stopping Porter in the tenth round, something that Spence failed to do when he faced the former champion in 2019, the clamour for a fight between Crawford and the unified champion is greater than ever.

While Top Rank boss Bob Arum may not call the shots for Crawford anymore after the 34-year-old announced his decision to leave the promotion, he believes there are two fights which could cement the multi-weight world champion's legacy as a pound-for-pound great, a clash with Spence or a fight with the undisputed champion at super lightweight Josh Taylor.

"There are really two guys out there that would make for a completion of his legacy; one is Spence and the other is Taylor," Arum told IFL TV.

"Spence would be the good fight, or Josh Taylor. Josh Taylor in the UK would be an absolute smash. Why not [the UK]? Crawford doesn’t care.

"If there’s a huge amount of money to go over to the UK and fight Taylor why wouldn’t he take it?"
