Naoya Inoue moving up in weight and delivering a scintillating eighth-round KO of Stephen Fulton to become the new unified WBC and WBO super bantamweight world champion Tuesday in Tokyo was well deserving of his boost up to the top of DAZN's men's pound-for-pound rankings Top 10.
The question is: How long can the Japanese boxing sensation keep that spot?
Most threatening to unseat Inoue is the winner between Saturday night's undisputed welterweight world championship mega fight between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford.
Just like Inoue and Fulton entered their bout undefeated, Spence and Crawford each owns a spotless record. Crawford stands 39-0 with 30 of those victories coming by the way of knockout to Spence's 28-0 ledger with 22 KOs.
The difference is Spence and Crawford each enter this super bout as world champions. Spence touts the WBA, WBC and IBF titles to Crawford's WBO strap, spelling undisputed glory on the line for the 147 pounders this weekend.
A convincing victory over Spence would make Crawford a back-to-back undisputed world champion, as he already accomplished the feat at junior welterweight back in August 2017. A dazzling display against "The Truth" should be more than enough for him to replace Inoue at No. 1 on the P4P rankings Top 10.
Then again, Spence defeating Crawford could yield the same results for him, especially if he hands Crawford his first loss emphatically.
So when it comes to Spence vs. Crawford and the winner overtaking Inoue at top of DAZN's P4P, the man who has his hand raised should take over, especially if he manages to capture the win in style.
