Evander Holyfield enjoyed an incredible career as he reigned as heavyweight champion on multiple occasions.
The Atlanta fighter made a huge splash at cruiserweight too before joining boxing’s big men and embarking on an incredible run.
Turning professional shortly after the 1984 Olympics, Holyfield was fast-tracked to glory becoming cruiserweight world champion in fight number 12.
Moving to heavyweight, Holyfield took on all of the division’s biggest names including Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, George Foreman, and Lennox Lewis.
After encountering all of the major threats his era had to offer, who does Holyfield consider the best overall opponent during his time in boxing?
“I would say Bowe. I had three fights with Bowe,” said Holyfield when speaking to The Ring during a previous interview.
“He was very competitive. He was always going to be in shape when he fought me.”
