Newly undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo has no time for Tim Tszyu, with the Australian keen on a fight.
Tszyu is the WBO No. 1 and could be in line for a mandatory fight with Charlo, who defeated Brian Castano with a 10th round knockout at the weekend. The victory settles the score between Charlo and the Argentine after a controversial draw last year.
Tszyu had been willing to step aside to facilitate the rematch, but speaking at a press conference after the fight, 31-year-old American Charlo did not seem especially keen on rewarding his cooperation with a fight. There is also a potential IBF clash on the cards, with Bakhram Murtazaliev their top-ranked fighter.
There are also likely to be orders from the remaining governing bodies, with the WBC interim champion Sebastian Fundora, and the WBA set to award their No. 1 status to the winner of Israil Madrimov and Michael Soro.
“F— you and Tim Kazoo,” said Charlo, reported BoxingScene.com. “Change the mic. Like stop asking me questions, dude. Clown-a— joke.”
“Hey, it’s different heat over here in America, baby. It’s different heat in America.”
