The Croatian could fight for a world title in 2024.

Filip Hrgovic has claimed that he would 'eat' rising heavyweight star Jared Anderson 'for breakfast' if the two were to meet in the future.

The Croatian is currently full of confidence after getting his second win of 2023, a first round knockout against Mark De Mori last weekend in Saudi Arabia.

Now Hrgovic will have his sights set on a world title shot at some point in 2024 with the 31-year-old currently the mandatory challenger for the IBF world heavyweight championship, which is held by Oleksandr Usyk.

It's expected that the IBF belt will become vacant after Usyk takes on Tyson Fury for the undisputed world heavyweight title on February 17, meaning that Hrgovic will be in prime position to have his first shot at glory.

Anthony Joshua has been a name linked with facing Hrgovic for the vacant belt. However, if the British star is unavailable, there is chance that Anderson, who is ranked number five with the IBF, could step in, and if this is the case, Hrgovic is very confident that he would make easy work of the man known as "Big Baby".

“Jared Anderson is for breakfast. For this kid, it’s not smart to fight with me,” Hrgovic said in a post fight interview following his emphatic victory over De Mori.

Anderson last fought in August when he knocked out Andrii Rudenko and extended his professional record to 16-0, with 15 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
