Keith Thurman will have his first fight in over two years on March 30 and he’ll jump straight into the deep end as he goes in with the impressive Tim Tszyu.
Once considered one of the world’s best welterweights, Thurman will make the jump to 154lbs, and he’ll be hoping he can make an impact against the unbeaten Australian.
Tszyu’s reputation has grown in recent years following a number of brutal displays that have seen climb the rankings at super-welterweight.
Thurman, who’s inactivity could cost him dearly in this fight, has his supporters in this fight and one of them is Leonard Ellerbe, who is expecting Thurman to emerge with credit.
“I think he’ll be more comfortable at this weight, and more importantly, Keith is a good fighter,” said Ellerbe when speaking to Fighthype.
“Tszyu is going to have some problems with him on that night. He hasn’t seen anyone like Keith Thurman. I was shocked on my way over here. They have Tszyu as an 8-to-1 favourite? Are they crazy?
“Keith Thurman is a live dog in this fight. Me, I’m picking him to win the fight. Tszyu is a good fighter, but he ain’t nothing like that.”
