Boxers are known to be light on their feet, and on Saturday in London Floyd Mayweather Jr. showed off some moves during his exhibition bout with Aaron Chalmers.
Mayweather was at ease throughout the scheduled eight rounds of the fight, which officially ended with no winner because of the non-competitive nature of the event. The 46-year-old used his jab to keep Chalmers at bay, displaying some of the skills that helped him through a stellar professional career.
Near the end of the first round, Mayweather landed an upper cut on Chalmers, who was a determined-if-overrmatched opponent. As each round passed, Mayweather's inner showman emerged a little bit more, as he could be seen talking to his 35-year-old foe with increasing frequency.
The chatter seem to buoy Chalmers, the former MMA fighter best known for his time on "Geordie Shore," but the difference in experience and skill wouldn't allow Mayweather to be in any real danger.
Mayweather topped off his performance by pulling off a full in-ring "360" spin during the match, seemingly mocking the wild hook from Chalmers that didn't come close to connecting.
The bout vs. Chalmers was Mayweather's sixth exhibition since he retired professionally in 2017. A 50-0 fighter as a pro, Mayweather as since taken part in exhibitions against Logan Paul, Deji, Tenshin Nasukawa, Don Moore, Mikuru Asakura and Chalmers.
