Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues his post-fight career with his latest exhibition bout, a June 11 showdown against John Gotti III.

Mayweather is, of course, a second-generation boxer after his father Floyd Sr. competed in the 1970s and '80s, while Gotti carries the name of his famous grandfather, American crime boss John Jr. As such, the duo's fight will headline the "Last Names Matter" pay-per-view, which will take place in Sunrise, Florida, and also feature live musical performances.

“I’m all about bringing the biggest and best events to the people, and Sunday, June 11 is going to be like nothing else you’ve seen in the sports and entertainment world,” Mayweather said. “This is all about combining the entertainment of top-flight musical performances with top-flight skills in the ring. I love the fans in South Florida and I know they’re going to appreciate this premier event we’re going to bring to them.”

Since his last professional fight, the Aug. 2017 bout against MMA superstar Conor McGregor, the 50-0 Mayweather has since delved into the world of exhibition matches against entertainers and athletes from different disciplines. Mayweather has taken on Logan Paul, Tenshin Nasukawa, and, most recently, Aaron Chalmers in exhibition bouts, and in Gotti he'll face another MMA fighter crossing over into the boxing ring.

Gotti has a 5-1 record in CES MMA and turned to professional boxing late last year, defeating Albert Tulley and Alex Citrowske. Now the 30-year-old gets to face one of the most decorated boxers of all time and one of his idols in Mayweather.

“I grew up idolizing Floyd and I’m honoured to have this chance to step into the ring against him,” Gotti said. “He’s one of the greatest boxers of all time and he’s the reason I got into the fight game. But on June 11, I’m gonna punish him.”
