Manchester City edged past Sheffield United on Sunday.

Manchester City continued their winning start to the Premier League season on Sunday after a tight 2-1 win over Sheffield United.

While the Blues did dominate the match at Bramall Lane, the Blades showed little sign of buckling as they produced an admirable defensive display.

For City striker Erling Haaland, it was a mixed afternoon. The Norweigan was kept at bay by the United defence, but he was given the opportunity to open the scoring in the first half from the penalty spot. Haaland however hit the post which prompted jubilation from the Bramall Lane stands.

Haaland then made sure he left his mark on the game when his header in the 63rd minute finally put City ahead.

As the 23-year-old celebrated in front of the travelling fans, former WBO world lightweight champion and City fan Terry Flanagan managed to find a way onto the pitch and embrace the striker while the rest of the team congratulated last season's Premier League Golden Boot winner.

Flanagan then went onto confirm that it was indeed him who was celebrating with Haaland with the following post on Instagram.

This was not the only bit of drama during this game with Jayden Bogle's strike levelling the scores in the 85th minute before Rodri's effort found its way into United's net just three minutes later and secured the victory for the defending Premier League champions.
