One fighter took a loss hard.

Mikael Lawal is hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend after losing his British title at the backend of last year.

Lawal’s unbeaten record went in October when he was defeated on points by Isaac Chamberlain in a decent battle for domestic bragging rights.

This weekend, Lawal has the opportunity to get his hand on another when he faces Viddal Riley for the English belt.

Lawal has spoken out after the loss to Chamberlain and the impact it had on him could serve as a motivation to push him forward.

"The first thing I did when I got home was apologise to my kids,” said Lawal when speaking to Sky Sports.

"A big letdown to the fans which I'm sorry for. It's a big learning curve for me. I do this for my family. It's the truth. I'm doing this for them. I'm fighting for them. You live and you learn.”
