Former heavyweight contender makes confident pick for Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois

Former heavyweight contender makes confident pick for Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel DuboisMatchroom

David Price doesn’t give Daniel Dubois much chance of causing a big upset when he faces Oleksandr Usyk next month.

The former heavyweight contender, who shared the ring with the likes of Alexander Povetkin and Derek Chisora, still keeps a keen eye on the division he once operated in, and he’s provided his say on August’s title clash.

Usyk has spent large portions of 2023 aiming to secure a fight with Tyson Fury but after enduring failure in that pursuit, Usyk must now focus on Dubois.

The London heavyweight has rebuilt his career steadily since losing to Joe Joyce in 2020 and now he has a huge opportunity coming up when he has the chance to become unified champion.

“I can’t see it no. I can’t see it. I think Usyk will find it too easy to land on Daniel Dubois,” said Price when speaking to Boxing News

“Again, he’s another where his attack is the best form of defence, but I don’t think he’ll have what it takes to land clean and often on Usyk.

“Usyk’s too busy, too mobile, and I think he’ll land too often on Dubois, and I think he’ll probably stop him late.”
