Kell Brook is planning a sensational return to boxing and he’s targeting the winner of this weekend’s middleweight clash between Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Smith.
The former welterweight world champion retired from the sport last year after defeating his long-time rival, Amir Khan, in a fight that saw Brook look dominant.
Inactive for almost a year, Brook appeared to be settling into retirement, but Ben Shalom, the promoter of this weekend’s event, insists that Brook wants to pursue a contest with Saturday’s winner.
The Sheffield star will be in Manchester, and it appears that a summer showdown with the victor is high on his agenda.
"Kell will be there on Saturday. He's desperate for the winner of that fight. He wanted the Eubank fight after the Khan fight," said Shalom when speaking to Sky Sports.
"He feels he wants the winner of this fight whether that's Liam Smith or whether that's Eubank Jr. There is a rematch clause, so if Liam does win Eubank will have the option with that one, but there'll be massive fights for whoever the winner is.”
