Francis Ngannou wondered if Anthony Joshua was nervous before their fight, set for this Friday.
The heavyweight pair fight on March 8, live on DAZN PPV, and there is plenty of pressure on both men to succeed.
Joshua lost consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk over the course of 2021-2022, but in 2023 he put together a hat-trick of victories, the last coming in December with an impressive stoppage victory over Otto Wallin.
For Ngannou, he is looking for his first win in the ring, having lost in October 2023 to Tyson Fury via split decision, and he needs to show that it was not a one-off.The winner is likely to face Filip Hrgovic, or the winner of the Fury vs. Usyk undisputed clash on May 18, also shown live on DAZN PPV.
"We were doing the promo and he was very chilled, very relaxed," Ngannou said on Tuesday, reported Sky Sports.
"I asked him if he was OK, because he looked a little nervous or something. I asked him if he was OK, because I was OK. I had no problems. I was just talking around, laughing.
"I think we are both professional enough to know what we have to do to get to where we want to go."
