Francis Ngannou on facing Tyson Fury: 'I do believe that fight will happen'DAZN
The UFC world heavyweight champion spoke to The DAZN Boxing Show about a future clash with Tyson Fury.

Despite claims from promoter Frank Warren that WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will return to action at the end of March, a opponent is yet to be announced.

Could UFC world heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou step in?

Speaking on the latest episode of The DAZN Boxing Show, Ngannou is confident a fight with Fury will happen in the future.

"I do believe that that fight will happen. I think Tyson Fury wants that fight to happen too. So eventually it will happen at some point," Ngannou said.

The UFC title holder also insisted that a fight with Fury wouldn't be his first and only professional boxing match after starting his combat sports career inside the squared circle.

"I first started boxing, you know, MMA for me was an opportunity. And as I always say, I want to have like, a little bit of recall of boxing, it's not one off stuff."

When it came to discussing whether a new UFC contract could get in the way of a potential spell in boxing, Ngannou said that due to his age, no life changing opportunity can go to waste.

"I'm 35 years old bro," Ngannou told Ak and Barak.

"It's not like I have a lifetime ahead of me. I'm very aware of my age and the stage of my career.

"If I really want to do this, I think it's time to do it, but I don't see why that shouldn't be possible for them [the UFC] as well."
