They may not be the headliners, but Raymond Ford and Nick Ball are the only fighters involved in the Queensberry vs. Matchroom 5v5 event contesting a world title.
Not surprisingly, Queensberry chairman Frank Warren has labelled the duo as "the two best in the world" at featherweight.
Ford will defend his WBA title against Ball in a fight that could potentially steal the headlines from Saturday's massive card. And while Dmitry Bivol will also be putting his WBA light heavyweight belt on the line against Malik Zinad on the same card, that particular fight is not part of the unique 5v5 format pitting two of the world's biggest boxing promoters against one another.
Regardless, Warren expects an entertaining contest when his man Ball tries to win the title from Ford, suggesting that there should even be more on the line when the 126-pounders square off.
"This is going to be a great fight, there's no doubt about it," Warren told DAZN at Wednesday's open workouts in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. "I think they're the two best in the world.
" It should be a unification fight, no doubt about that. I think he (Ball) beat the best featherweight in the world (WBC champion Rey Vargas) last time out but it is what it is.
"Now he's got a great opportunity to jump back in there again and win a world title."
