Abel Sanchez has listed three fighters he believes can beat Canelo Alvarez. The veteran trainer, the former coach of Gennadiy Golovkin, knows all about Canelo from the Mexican’s series with the aforementioned Kazakh star.
With Golovkin and Canelo heavily favoured to meet for a third time this year, Sanchez believes that the fighter he took to middleweight glory is capable of beating boxing’s P4P superstar.
As well as naming Golovkin, Sanchez also named two other fighter he thinks would have a decent chance of ending Canelo’s incredible run.
“The only people who can be a tough fight for Canelo are [Artur] Beterbiev, [David] Benavidez, and a well-trained Golovkin,” said Sanchez when speaking to FightHype.
“Those are the only people who can beat Canelo. The ones who walk him down. These are the only ones who can threaten him.”
