Calvin Ford is excited about the prospect of his fighter, Gervonta Davis, facing Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2022. The talented pair occupy lofty positions in the deep 135lbs division and a battle between the pair is one of the finest fights that can be made in boxing right now.
Both fighters have enjoyed plenty of success in recent times but a meeting pitting the two against each other would be legacy enhancing for the victor. Ford, who has taken ‘Tank’ to numerous high-profile wins, likes the fight and hopes that it can be finalised.
“We waiting on that fight,” said when speaking to ESNEWS when asked about the possibility of Davis facing Lomachenko. “It’s going to be a chess match. I don’t know if Loma will take the chances that he will with Tank, but that’s a mega-fight, to tell you the truth.
“It’s a fight that people have been waiting on. I don’t know what his [Lomachenko] next fight is. 2022 is going to be a really interesting year for all of them, to tell you the truth because they got to fight each other.”
