Former Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis opponent Hector Luis Garcia does not give Frank Martin much hope this weekend.
Martin challenges Davis for the champion’s WBA lightweight belt in Las Vegas on Saturday, live on Prime Video PPV in the US and in the UK.
Davis is unbeaten - as is Martin - but it is the former who is seen as the clear favourite, and the winner could then go on to pursue unification at 135lbs.
Davis most recently fought in April 2023, when he produced a brutal body shot to stop Ryan Garcia, and he continues to be linked with some of the biggest names in and around his current division.
Martin fought once last year, defeating Artem Harutyunyan.
Garcia, speaking to BoxingScene, gave him credit for abilities, but he did not see a way past his Davis.
“We can’t take anything away from Martin. He is a very good fighter," Garcia said.
“Having said that, I expect Tank to win by knockout.
“I think that his speed and power will be too much for Martin."
