The talent laden lightweight division was under the spotlight last weekend as q number of high-profile fighters vied for victory.
Following Teofimo Lopez’s shocking loss to George Kambosos earlier this month, the pressure was on Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis to exert their credentials as they participated in separate fights.
On Saturday night, Haney went through his entire repertoire as he took a decision victory over a game JoJo Diaz. The next night, Davis was forced to go the 12-round distance for the first time in over seven years as he was pushed hard by Isaac Cruz.
The DAZN Boxing Show discussed which fighter had the better weekend, grading each man's victory.
“I’d say Devin Haney,” said Barak, The DAZN Boxing Show co-host. “He won the fight nine rounds to three.
"I would say that Haney gets the better grade because Gervonta Davis hurt his hand. I’ve got to give it to Devin Haney.”
Barak’s partner on the show, Ak, was in full agreement.
“I honestly think that Devin fought the more skilled fighter in JoJo Diaz," argued Ak.
"I think Haney won the weekend, but ‘Tank’ won his fight. Hopefully, those guys will fight each other one day.”
