Hamzah Sheeraz continued his unbeaten professional career as he defeated Francisco Emanuel Torres in five rounds.on Saturday night.
The British middleweight secured the vacant WBC silver middleweight title in the process at London’s Copper Box Arena.
Sheeraz dominated his opponent in the early stages and left his opponent on the canvas twice in the third round, though he was also put down in the same round.
Sheeraz made it 16 consecutive wins in his five-year professional career when he earned a stoppage in the fifth round when the referee brought the fight to a close.
"I was sticking to the gameplan behind the jab," Sheeraz said to BT Sport after the fight.
"I knocked him down [but] I didn't respect his power, got a bit greedy and found myself on the canvas.
"If you hear [trainer] Ricky [Funez] in the corner, he's telling me to loop that right hand after a left hook and then we got him out of there. It was a great learning experience."
