Has Jermell Charlo proven himself as a top-10 pound-for-pound fighter?Showtime Boxing

Devin Haney and Jermell Charlo are new entries on the DAZN Pound for Pound top ten list .

The American pair join the rankings following impressive victories that saw both fighters leave the ring as undisputed champions in their respective divisions. The results have not gone unnoticed with Haney debuting at number eight with Charlo two places lower.

Last month, Charlo was desperate to settle his rivalry with Brian Castano following an underwhelming performance in 2021 that saw him escape with a draw. This time around, Charlo was far more authoritative and his work early in the bout was vital as he scored a late stoppage over the tough Argentine to become the man at super-welterweight.

On June 4, Haney travelled to Australia and relieved George Kambosos of his three lightweight titles. The victory ensured that Haney returned to Las Vegas with all four lightweight belts and the opportunity to climb higher should be straightforward over the next two years due to the number of threats awaiting him at 135lbs.

With Haney and Charlo joining boxing’s elite, their spaces have been vacated by Tyson Fury and Kambosos. The British heavyweight is still WBC champion, but he's made repeated claims that he’s retired from the sport. Kambosos exits the ratings due to the one-sided manner of his loss to Haney.
