Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's move to cruiserweight has split boxing fans across the world, but for Ak and Barak on the latest episode of The DAZN Boxing Show, they praise the Mexican's decision to move up in weight.
"And here's the thing, Barak: he says he likes challenges. He wants to continue to chase greatness. And he's already getting criticised," Ak said, while reacting to the big news coming from the WBC convention.
After expressing his desire to move up to 200lbs, the WBC have since then made Canelo the next opponent for their world champion Ilunga Makabu for a fight which could take place in May 2022.
But while a fight with Makabu will provide a tough test for Canelo, Ak believes a win wouldn't be the defining moment of the 31-year-old's professional boxing career.
"This fight right here is dangerous, in my opinion," Ak claimed
"I've watched footage of Makabu. I think he hits hard, he's a southpaw so that's always a little tricky.
"If he [Canelo] wins a world title, I think it obviously adds to his legacy being a champion in a fifth division. Not too many fighters can say that. I wouldn't say it's his most defining moment."
