Anthony Joshua made a successful return to the ring last weekend as he got back to winning ways when defeating Jermaine Franklin on points.
The result was Joshua’s first victory since 2020 as he produced a disciplined performance to get him back on the way to securing bigger fights in the hope of becoming world champion again.
Although the fight received mixed reviews in the immediate aftermath, one fighter who wasn’t impressed was Filip Hrgovic.
The Croation star, the official mandatory challenger for Usyk’s IBF crown, has had his say on last Saturday’s fight and he’s confident that he’ll beat Joshua if a meeting can be secured with his fellow contender.
“I destroy him. I think I destroy him. If he comes in this shape, I’ll destroy him,” said Hrgovic when speaking to ID Boxing.
When asked why he was so confident on the outcome, Hrgovic replied, “My boxing skill, my chin, my speed, my power, everything.”
