The DAZN Boxing Show discussed what other fighters need to do to make a fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
The Mexican undisputed super middleweight champion has recently said he has grown tired of fighters from middleweight to light heavyweight using his name in search of a payday, rather than making fights amongst themselves.
Middleweight and super middleweight has no shortage of big-name fighters but Canelo remains the biggest draw, so it is understandable many boxers hope to one day score a match-up with the four-belt fighter.
However, his next fight will be against Dmitry Bivol at 175lbs, and he indicated to Chris Mannix at the weekend that he might then pursue the remaining champions in the division.
Akin ‘Ak’ Reyes and Barak Bess discussed Canelo’s suggestion that other fighters should be looking to fight one another to earn a bout with him, and they agreed.
Ak said: “This Bivol fight is a huge fight, it's not a soft touch. It’s not [David] Benavidez or [Jermall] Charlo.
“It's like Canelo says, he has something to offer. Those guys should fight each other, I’m glad he said it. I like the fact that he’s saying it. I want to hear those guys' responses.”
