Former multi-weight world champion Roy Jones Jr has revealed what gameplan he would give Ryan Garcia in order to give him the best chance of beating Gervonta 'Tank' Davis.
After months of negotiations, Garcia and Davis will finally go head-to-head in Las Vegas on April 22 in a fight which will bring the boxing world to a standstill.
Both fighters have huge fanbases and already anticipation is building with the two American rivals being billed as future faces of boxing.
Davis' hard-hitting power and Garcia's speed means their two styles should make for a thrilling contest, but Jones Jr believes Garcia will need to make early inroads on his opponent who is known to flourish in the later rounds.
"I think it’s a good even fight. I think Ryan has a very good chance in that fight to win," Jones Jr told The DAZN Boxing Show.
"Ryan has to start early and put damage on ‘Tank’ before the sixth, seventh, eighth round because if you damage ‘Tank’ early, it will be better for him going into the long run of the fight."
While Davis vs. Garcia doesn't take place until next month, Jones Jr is preparing for a fight of his own on Saturday night when he takes on former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.
