Chris Arreola is being lined up as the next test for Hughie Fury. With his focus set on returning to the highest level he tested himself at in recent years, a win over Arreola could serve as a platform for Fury to take on bigger challenges in the near future.
After failing in previous challenges against elite opponents including Joseph Parker and Alexander Povetkin, Fury is eager to put right the losses that have hurt his career. With the world titles almost certain to be spread out at some point in 2022, a win over Arreola could see Fury take a leap up the rankings.
“Peter Fury wants Arreola, and we think that's a great fight," said Ben Shalom when speaking to Sky Sports.
"Arreola did really well against Andy Ruiz Jr. We think it's time for Hughie to step up after an impressive win over Hammer. There are a lot of potential opponents being chucked around.
"We have our eye on Derek Chisora next year for Hughie. Hughie is just circling around the top 10 in the world. He's waiting to fight any of them. He would fight Dillian Whyte, he would fight Chisora, he would fight Joseph Parker again. He thinks he's got Parker's number."
