The boxing legend's preparations have not been smooth.

Mike Tyson is preparing for his boxing comeback on November 15 when he faces Jake Paul in Dallas, Texas.

Taking place at the AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, Tyson will lace up the gloves for the first time since November 2020 when he faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.

At the age of 58, Tyson's preparations ahead of facing 'The Problem Child' have not been smooth with the fight unable to go ahead as originally planned on July 20 after the former heavyweight champion suffered an ulcer flare-up.

Since the incident, Tyson has spoken about the postponement and how the ulcer issue was a near-death experience.

“A week and a half ago I was training and I was doing great but then all of a sudden I started feeling tired," Tyson said in a documentary on Netflix building up to his fight with Paul

“I was explaining to my trainer, 'I don't know what's wrong with me'.

“Coming here from Miami on the plane, I went to the bathroom, and I threw up blood. The next thing I know I'm on the floor, I was defecating tar.

“So, I came here, and they found I had a big ulcer, two-and-a-half inches, and it was bleeding. All my friends were calling me like I was dying.”

Tyson then struggled to contain the frustration caused by the ulcer.

“I asked the doctor if I was going to die, and she didn't say no. She said we have options though, and that's when I got nervous," he continued.

“I can't wait to get out of this motherf—r, man. God, I want to fight and start training. I don't want to die in the hospital bedroom, I want to die in the ring.

“You wouldn't believe what I endured from my ulcer. I lost 26 pounds, can you imagine that? I was so p—d off because I had peaked. I was good, talking s—t, ready. "
