Badou Jack does not think he can rule out a Deontay Wilder victory when he faces Tyson Fury this summer.
While the fight is yet to be officially confirmed, the WBC champion is expected to face the Bronze Bomber for the third time this summer after an arbiter ruled in favour of the former champion’s demands for a trilogy match-up.
The preferred outcome for Fury’s representatives and Anthony Joshua’s team would have been to give Wilder step-aside money in order to go straight into their expected August fight in Saudi Arabia to decide the undisputed heavyweight champion. However Joshua now appears obliged to meet Oleksandr Usyk instead.
With Fury and Wilder now set to finally put their dispute to bed in the ring, Jack was asked on the DAZN Boxing Show how he saw the fight ending up, and the 37-year-old American thought Fury would edge it but he could not be certain.
“I thought they were probably going to give him step-aside money, but it looks like that's not going to happen. I guess it’s Wilder and Fury Three,” he said.
“Wilder has got the equaliser, if he gets you with one punch, it’s over. But with the last fight, I can’t see Wilder winning, but anything is possible, especially in the heavyweight division.”
