How has the mixed martial arts community reacted to Nate Diaz stepping away from the Octagon and donning boxing gloves for his fight against Jake Paul on Saturday night?
Well, according to Diaz, not so warmly.
"I hear a lot more hate than love," Diaz told boxing legend Andre Ward for a DAZN segment. "I think people are more jealous of my position, not just fighting [Paul], but they know I do what I want to do and been doing what I wanted the whole time.
"You got ex-UFC fighter analysts saying their opinions and I'm like ... a lot of those guys talk about what I should be doing and what I have done and how I should have done things and I'm like 'Look at you! Worry about what you're doing! Don't worry about what I'm doing.'"
Diaz also believes that the same MMA fighters who have criticized him for boxing Paul would have jumped into the ring had they been given the same opportunity.
"100 percent."
