Is Seniesa Estrada a top five fighter in women’s boxing?

Is Seniesa Estrada a top five fighter in women’s boxing?DAZN

Seniesa Estrada is the WBA and WBC unified minimumweight champion after defeating Tina Rupprecht at the weekend.

Estrada has also won titles at junior flyweight, and Akin 'Ak' Reyes and Barak Bess discussed the two-division champion’s standing in the sport.

Bess believes she is unfairly disregarded when it comes to discussing the best fighters.

“I‘ve been saying this for a very long time,” he began on The DAZN Boxing Show

"Seniesa Estrada is the most underrated female boxer in the world. I understand she’s on the pound-for-pound list but I thought maybe last year she should have been above [Jessica] McCaskill, but she was the undisputed champion at 147 lbs.

“Now I understand that, but that’s because she beat one person, [Cecilia] Braekhus. Seniesa Estrada is a two division champion, and her skillset is so special, Nine knockouts at 105 lbs, that’s impressive.

“She's just beautiful in there. I think she’s underrated. In women’s boxing, you’ve got great boxers at the top.”

Reyes agreed, but pointed out that the strength of women’s boxing means it is tough to put her right at the top.

“She’s definitely up there. Top five maybe, you can argue,” he said.
