Jack Catterall vs. Regis Prograis - Catterall names the fighter he wants to face if victoriousDAZN
A big fight takes place this weekend.

Jack Catterall is targeting a fight with Teofimo Lopez if he can get past Regis Prograis this weekend in what promises to be a fascinating 140lbs encounter.

The fight, live on DAZN from the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, will see two of the world’s best super-lightweights go at it with the winner set to land a huge fight in 2025.

Catterall enters the fight in excellent form following superb wins over high quality operators including Jorge Linares and Josh Taylor.

The Chorley man is eager to fight for a world title, and if he can secure victory against Prograis then it’s likely that another big opportunity will come his way.

Lopez claimed the WBO belt last year when he dominated Josh Taylor in New York City to claim the WBO crown at 140lbs following an excellent run at lightweight.

Lopez is seen by most as the number one fighter in the division, and he’s the fighter who Catterall has his eyes on.

“That’s the motivation for both if us as the winner goes on to land a big fight,” said Catterall when speaking exclusively to DAZN.

“I don't want to look too far into the future, but if had to pick [my next opponent] then it’d be Teofimo Lopez.

“He has WBO world title and out of all the champions in the division, that'd be the fight I’d love to have, but first and foremost, I’ve got a job to do and that's to beat Prograis.”
