Jack Catterall has said that a win over Josh Taylor on Saturday night would be ‘life-changing.’
Catterall is bringing his 26-0 unbeaten record into the fight, and will be the sixth fighter to face Taylor with an unblemished record. Those before him have all left with a defeat to their name, with the undisputed super lightweight the comfortable favourite ahead of the bout in Scotland.
However, while there has been plenty of needle in the past few days, including a near-stramash at the weigh-in on Friday, the 31-year-old Scot acknowledged that Catterall poses a threat.
The mandatory challenger, 28, is aware that a win would put him at the forefront of British boxing, as well as open up financial opportunities he does not yet have.
“A win would be massive, life-changing....and not just for me but my team and my family as well,” he said, reported The National. “It’s 17 years since I first pulled the gloves on and it’s all been leading up to this point.”
