Jake Paul finished 2024 in impressive fashion as he defeated Mike Tyson in one of the year’s biggest sporting events via a wide points decision.
The popular YouTuber carried a huge advantage in freshness and youth, and he made those qualities count as he dominated Tyson for the majority of their contest.
After enduring several attacks from the veteran New Yorker in the opening stages of the fight, Paul settled into the battle before pulling away on the scorecards.
The result allowed him to carry on building momentum and he now starts the new year with his reputation still soaring with numerous challenges still awaiting him.
One potential option for Paul could be a rematch with Tommy Fury. A former rival of Paul, Fury inflicted defeat on the American in 2023 despite being dropped in the last round.
Fury was supposed to be facing Darren Till later this month, but he withdrew from the fight following threats from the former UFC star that he would kick Fury during the fight.
After sharing the ring with both Tyson and Fury, Paul has revealed who hits hardest between the pair.
“Tommy Fury. It’s the shots you don’t see so Tommy was a little tricky,” said Paul when speaking to the media during the aftermath of his win against Tyson.
“If you see the punch coming you can prepare for it, if all of a sudden you can’t see it and you get hit, that’s when it hurts. So, Tommy was more tricky with that, but Mike’s punches I could see coming.
“Tyson was strong but he didn’t land anything clean, so I honestly didn’t feel Mike Tyson’s full power, which is good because obviously you don’t want to.”
