Jake Paul has called for a summer showdown with Mike Tyson. The popular YouTuber has made an enormous impact in New York City this week promoting the upcoming Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano fight, but he also has one eye on his next contest.
Despite his lengthy rivalry with Tommy Fury, the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson, Paul appears to be looking elsewhere for an opponent. Tyson, one of boxing’s most dominant fighters at his prime, has hinted at numerous exhibition bouts since facing Roy Jones in 2020, and he’s the man who Paul would like to test himself against next.
“For sure, that’s legendary,” said Paul when asked by Boxing Social about a potential fight with Tyson.
“The old generation of boxing with the new generation of boxing, all being mixed into one. As Mike Tyson said on the Joe Rogan podcast, it would be one of the biggest pay-per-views of all time.
“Together when we were on the same card, we sold almost two million pay-per-views. It could be three million pay-per-views, four million pay-per-views. Mike Tyson like you said on the podcast, if you’re watching this, let’s make the fight happen. I’m ready and I think I would win, Mike thinks he would win, so let’s do it.”
