In less than a week, USA Boxing will try to bring home gold medals in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
Jake Paul recently had a chance to serve as the squad's honorary coach and train with them at the OIympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There, he gave the team pointers on meditation, breathwork and how to stay poised in big moments.
"I want one of these fighters to bring back gold, baby!" Paul says in a video he posted to his YouTube channel Tuesday.
"It's really cool for me to be able to see the stage of boxing that I skipped and being able to connect with that is very special to me," he continues. "Seeing Cassius Clay's name on that wall — 1960, Rome, gold medal — surreal. It's just a super cool moment to know that he was in these buildings. He's one of my idols and I strive to do so many things outside of the ring just like he did."
The footage shows Paul doing everything from hitting the heavy bags to stretching and even introducing the team to his own personal therapist.
"The biggest thing that I think is important is manifestation and calling in what you want to happen," Paul says in the clip. "The more you believe in it, the more you call it in, then the more real it's going to get."
He tacks on: "It's been really awesome to get to know these fighters more and know their stories, what makes them tick and why they dedicated their lives to the hardest sport in the world."
