Teddy Atlas believes that Mike Tyson is a dangerous opponent for Jake Paul when the pair clash later this year in July.
Atlas spent time training Tyson when the former world champion was growing up and he’s not ruling out the New Yorker making a big impression when the bell finally rings against Paul.
Paul enters the bout a significant favourite despite his lack of experience and that’s largely down to Tyson’s age as he approaches 60.
Tyson has not fought since 2005, but Atlas, one of the sharpest minds in boxing, has lent some backing to 1980s phenomenon.
“I think this is a very dangerous fight for Paul,” said Atlas on The Fight podcast.
“I think early on, I think he might be making a mistake because, first of all, for me, he don’t got a lot, other than money, and he’s made plenty of money.
“There’s not a lot to winning on his side because if he wins, they say he’s 58 years old, you know. And if he loses, they say he’s 58 years old, you lost to a 58-year-old guy.”
