Although his main focus in on Jake Paul this weekend, Tommy Fury has taken a shot at BJ Flores, an ex-fighter who’s prepared Paul for Sunday’s battle.
The former cruiserweight world title challenger has once again been placed in the spotlight due to his role as Paul’s trainer and his comments regarding the fight appear to have irked Fury.
Fury and Paul will finally meet following a lengthy period of verbal insults where both men have taken personal digs at each other.
Flores, perhaps best known for his 2016 loss to Tony Bellew in Liverpool, has been outspoken about the outcome of this imminent bout and Fury has wasted no time in aiming a response.
“Jake Paul has never been hit in his entire career, and as for BJ Flores, I will fight him on Sunday night after Jake Paul and break his jaw,” said Fury when speaking to Sky Sports.
“How is that? BJ Flores isn't worth a wet wipe anyway. I'd beat BJ Flores now. He came over to the UK a few years ago and he got done over by Tony Bellew. I don't know who he is talking about, he wants to shut up doesn't he?
“That team are team hype aren't they? The trainers are on the payroll, the cutman is on the payroll. They are going to say this sort of stuff, but when it comes to it for real, they are going to have nothing to say.”
