The career of Naseem Hamed looks set to be turned into a big screen feature after reports his life will covered in a biopic movie.
Variety have announced that ‘Giant’ has been given the green light and it’ll be a sports drama that will cover the incredible rise of one of Britain’s best ever boxers.
Amir El-Masry will play Hamed, and it looks like James Bond star, Pierce Brosnan, is to take the role of Brendan Ingle, Hamed’s trainer.
Sylvester Stallone, arguably Hollywood’s most recognisable boxing star after his run as Rocky, is also onboard in a producer capacity.
Hamed’s career peaked in the mid to late 1990s as he ruled the featherweight division with impressive wins over the likes of Kevin Kelley and Manuel Medina.
Hamed walked away from boxing in 2002 a year after suffering his only loss against Marco Antonio Barrera.
