'A s—t-load of money!' - Eddie Hearn reveals what would convince Terence Crawford to face Jaron EnnisMark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing
The Matchroom boss believes no fight would be brokered between the two right now, but that a lucrative offer could get it over the line.

Jaron Ennis won't get a bout with Terence Crawford soon because the latter will want "a s—t-load of money", but Eddie Hearn still believes a fight could materialise in late 2025.

Boots will defend his IBF welterweight title against Karen Chukhadzhian at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, atop a stacked fight card live on DAZN this weekend.

The American was awarded the title initially after Crawford refused to mount a mandatory defence against Ennis, instead opting to step up a division to face Israil Madrimov.

While Matchroom boss Hearn has said Ennis will remain at welterweight for the near-future, he admits a bout with Crawford would not materialise now due to the financial offers.

"[We] know Crawford's not going to fight him," he told The Stomping Ground. "The only way Crawford is going to fight Boots is if he gets paid a s—t-load of money.

"At the moment, the fight's not big enough for the amount of money that Terence wants for that fight. Jaron would fight Crawford in a heartbeat. It's a great fight."

Hearn did suggest that should Ennis continue to progress and Crawford remains in the frame next year, a bout could well be put together by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh.

The Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia has helped stage multiple mega-fights under the Riyadh Season banner over the past few years.

"You will see that fight if Terence stays around, because sooner or later, Jaron is going to move to 154, and when you do, you have to chase Terence Crawford," Hearn added.

"Let's see what happens, but I would love His Excellency to make that fight, and he's the kind of person that could make that fight [at the] back end of 2025."
