Jermaine Franklin is in a confident mood as he heads into the biggest fight of his career this weekend against Anthony Joshua.
The contest, exclusively live on DAZN, sees Franklin return to Britain following his close points loss to Dillian Whyte last November when some believed he had done enough to secure victory against the former world title challenger.
In Joshua, Franklin faces a daunting task as the British heavyweight is focused on returning to winning ways following two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua is eager to reinsert himself at championship level at heavyweight, but Franklin fully believes that he can cause a significant upset when he faces the 2012 Olympic gold medallist.
“I’m more ready and I’m more in shape. I’m just ready to let the fireworks go,” said Franklin at the pre-fight press conference.
“I watched AJ fights way before we even had this opportunity or thought it was possible. My confidence is always great. I think you’re in the wrong business if you don’t truly believe in yourself – this is not the right game for you.
“I’m going to get the win by any means possible. But if I can put him on his a-- then that’s what I’m going to try to do. Anything is possible. I come from a place with not a lot of possibilities, and I made it this far, so anything is possible.”
