Demetrius Andrade vs. Jermall Charlo could finally be made as negotiations do not seem impossible, says Eddie Hearn.
The Matchroom promoter has been trying to get his WBO middleweight fighter a big event for some time, and now the WBC belt holder could be a realistic proposition.
Hearn told the DAZN Boxing Show: “I saw Stephen Espinoza yesterday say that you know Charlo wasn't tied to Showtime, and he wouldn't stop him taking that fight anywhere else. That was music to our ears.
“But at the same time. We're not tying, and DAZN won't tie Andrade to DAZN if that fight presents itself because you have to let these guys fight these kinds of fights.
“Fernando Monteil is not an elite-level fighter. But although Charlo won virtually every round, it was an okay fight. It was quite competitive. I think, actually, Charlo has to be careful that he doesn't start fighting to that level, and it’s because he's a brilliant fighter.
“So, when you're Charlo, you've got to be careful that you don't become almost like a Terence Crawford and keep taking these fights that's actually going to deplete your value.”
