Jermell Charlo reveals what Canelo Alvarez will realize on fight nightDAZN

Back-to-back press conferences in New York City and Los Angeles more than illustrate that though Jermell Charlo is moving up two weight divisions to fight Canelo Alvarez, it's the 154-pound undisputed junior middleweight champion who is the bigger man.

But now that Alvarez can see that he'll be giving up three inches in height and nearly another three in reach, Charlo promises to show him a whole lot more in just over a month's time in Las Vegas.

"I'm not just a little Charlo, I'm the big Charlo," Charlo began saying during the LA press conference Wednesday about what Alvarez will realize about him on September 30.

"He's going to realize I am what I am and I say I am," he continued. "Canelo will see that I pack a good punching power. I got good lateral movement, good abilities to move around the ring.

"I'm a general just like he is. He'll see that September 30, it won't be a walk in the park."

He implored further: "Just as well as he's going to do something different and do something better, same thing with me. But I'm not going to overtrain, overstep or overthink it. I'm just going to get in there and do what I do and have fun."

To that, Alvarez shot back: "Outside of the ring, they look or they see I'm an easy fighter. But when they step in the ring with me, it's completely different."

Both Alvarez and Charlo are 33-years-old. Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion, touts a 59-2-2 record with 39 knockouts to Charlo's 35-1-1 ledger including 19 KOs.
