It was announced on Friday that WBC, WBA, and IBF super-middleweight champion Jermell Charlo and WBO titlist Brian Castaño will meet in a rematch to determine undisputed champion on Saturday, March 19 from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Neither Charlo or Castaño have fought since their first bout. The sequel had been earmarked for Charlo's hometown of Houston but Castaño refused to fight in the state of Texas due to the scores from seven months ago.
Castaño and Charlo met last July in San Antonio with the result being a split draw. Many were shocked at the decision because Castaño had done more than enough to warrant the decision on the scorecards. One judge gave it to Castaño 114-113, another score was a draw 114-114 and the last judge inexplicably scored it 117-111 for Charlo.
