Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez could face Juan Francisco Estrada in his next fight, according to his trainer Robert Garcia.
Rodriguez was last in action back in December when he beat Sunny Edwards to unify the IBF and WBO world flyweight titles.
The 24-year-old is fast becoming one of boxing's biggest stars and he is showing no signs of slowing down, by taking on some of the sport's biggest names.
Estrada, also known "El Gallo", looked set to face Kazuto Ioka in a WBA and WBC super flyweight unification fight, however, with Ioka having to face a mandatory challenger, a fight between Estrada and Rodriguez is back on with a date set for the summer according to Garcia.
"On our side it’s already a done deal, we already agreed to the fight," Garcia told Boxing Social.
"Matchroom already has a date in June, I believe from what I understand ‘Gallo’ was choosing to fight Ioka first which I understand. It’s a unification fight.
"But Ioka has to do a mandatory, so that won’t be able to happen with ‘Gallo’, ‘Gallo’s back on board.
"Matchroom just told me this morning that everything is looking good so hopefully we are able to do it."
