Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Caleb Plant meet for the undisputed super-middleweight championship of the world tomorrow night in Las Vegas.

Former world super-middleweight champion and British boxing legend Joe Calzaghe is confident he'd be able to beat Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in his prime.

While Calzaghe acknowledges that the Mexican is one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boxing gloves, he couldn't help but predict what would happen if he faced Canelo.

“If he continues the way he’s going and winning titles, he has to be in the top 10 of all-time based on what he’s achieved,” Calzaghe told The Mirror

"And his longevity, longevity is important as well. Winning the title is one thing, we’ve seen fighters win a title and then lose it, so for him to be champion for all these years is impressive.

"Of course, I wish I was around now when Canelo is around. Of course it would be a tough fight. It would have been a great fight, but he’s 5ft 8ins and I think I would have won."

When discussing Saturday night's fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Calzaghe belives Caleb Plant will have success early on, but Canelo will eventually come out on top in the later stages.

"It’s going to be a tough fight for Plant, he’s never been in the ring with someone of the calibre of Canelo.

“I do think Plant will do well early on. If he fights intelligently, he can be competitive, but I see Canelo winning by a late stoppage or on points.”

The Canelo vs. Plant fight will not air on DAZN. However, The DAZN Boxing Show will be in Las Vegas during fight week for live episodes, exclusive interviews and more.
