Joe Joyce is picking Deontay Wilder to have his hand raised if he ever gets a chance to share a ring with Anthony Joshua.
The British heavyweight contender, the 2016 Olympic silver medallist, has his own chance to gatecrash the business end of the division later this month when he faces Zhilei Zhang in a rematch and it could be the likes of Wilder and Joshua he targets in 2024.
The long-time rivals have been linked to a fight since 2015 but despite several periods of negotiations between the pair, a bout still hasn’t been finalised.
Both former world champions are eager to grab belts again, and if the time does ever come where they decide to find out who is the better fighter, Joyce thinks the man from America can get the job done.
“They’ve both got phenomenal punching power,” said Joyce when speaking with DAZN courtesy of Freebets.com.
“Wilder’s improving and Joshua just seemed to be throwing straight shots in his last fight. I’d like to that fight if it can happen, but at this moment, my money’s on Wilder.”
